The Pacuare River located on the Caribbean slope, ranks among the best rafting rivers in the world for its warm water, waterfalls, and sumptuous rainforest with its dazzling colors and animal species.  The Pacuare River flows approximately 108 km to the Caribbean bordering the Talamanca mountain range, home to Cabecar indigenous reserve, one of the 8 indigenous ethnic groups in the country.

Different from the rest of the country, life in the Caribbean is a mixture of indigenous heritage with African, Oriental and Spanish, a blend that reflects in food, people and culture.   A new dimension for this trip is visiting Arenal in the Northern Region. The summit of the Arenal Volcano rises 1,633 meters above sea level towering far above the northern plains overlooking a wind-swept lake and pristine cloud forest reserves sheltering an incredibly diverse wildlife.

DAY 1 : No meals included Assistance at the Juan Santamaria International Airport and immigration procedures. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. Time at leisure. The capital city, San José, lies at an altitude of 1,170 meters above sea level and is located in the central valley which is surrounded by beautiful mountains and majestic volcanoes. DAY 2 : Breakfast, lunch and dinner included Transfer from San Jose to the Pacuare where a pristine wilderness reserve harbors the comfortable bungalows and elegant suites surrounded by tropical rainforest. Part of the shared transfer is done with more guests of the lodge and the second part is done by raft along the first part of the rapids. Visitors thrill at the sublime sensations provided by the outdoor activities at Pacuare Lodge. This is one of the most amazing rainforest

DAY 3 : Breakfast, lunch and dinner included Transfer from San Jose the town of Puerto Viejo in Limon on board your selected transportation.  Puerto Viejo is a small town that has many beaches in the surrounding area. With its rich culture and its people, it is one of the places that has been able to preserve its lifestyle. In the center of the village, it is easy to appreciate and recognize the traditions and customs of a group of people who are mainly engaged in fishing. Overnight at selected hotel.

We leave the charming Puerto Viejo town behind and head to the town of Fortuna de San Carlos (Arenal) on board your selected transportation.   Just for you: the magnificent rural landscape and the simplicity and kindness of our people.  Fortuna is literally the entrance to the Arenal Volcano and offers great views of the impressive giant.  Overnight at selected hotel.

DAY 9 : Breakfast included. We leave La Fortuna in the northern Region on board the selected transportation towards the Central Valley, where you will have enough time to buy some souvenirs or visit the capital city. Overnight at selected hotel.

DAY 10 : Breakfast included. Transfer towards Juan Santamaria International Airport on board the selected transportation.
