Wonders of Bhutan

Day 1

Pick up from Bagdogra Airport/NJP Station/Siliguri. Transfer to Phuentsholing, complete immigration formalities at Phuentsholing. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

Day 2

After breakfast, check out of your hotel & proceed to Thimphu via sightseeing :

  • BBS Tower – Provides a vantage point view of the Thimpu Valley.
  •  Memorial Chorten

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3

After breakfast, proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Thimphu, which includes the following
places of interest:

  •  Folk Heritage Museum
  • Royal Textile Academy & Museum
     Trashichhodzong – Fortress in Thimphu
    Handicrafts Emporium
    Kuensel Phodrang – World’s Largest Sitting Buddha Statue
    Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo

Note – On weekends, guests would also have the opportunity of visiting the weekend market, an interesting market with local items and bargain price handicraft goods.
Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 4

After breakfast, proceed toward Punakha. Enroute, halt at Dochu La - A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Enjoy lunch at newly open restaurant Druk Wangyel Cafe and visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lakhang on your way to Punakha.

Day 5

After breakfast, proceed for a visit to the beautiful Phobjika Valley and Goempa Monastery.The Phobjika valley is home to the migration of the Blacked Crane in the months of Winter where the migrant birds a found in large number across the valley floor.

Day 6

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would

include the following places:

  •  Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro
  •  Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro
  • Ta Dzong – National Musuem of Bhutan

Day 7

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - The highest motorable point in Bhutan.On a clear day one can get a breathtaking view of Mt.Jhomolhari (23,996 ft the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants. Visit Paro handicraft market during evening time.
** Taktsang Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour will be optional since it requires 2-3 hours trekking to reach the Monastery. Ponies are available for hire.

Day 8

After breakfast, check out of your hotel & transfer to Phuentsholing.Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

Day 9

After breakfast, check out of your hotel & transfer to Bagdogra Airport//NJP Station/Siliguri Depart with Happy memories from the Kingdom of Happiness - Bhutan!
